Nice machine. I picked up a 44 ton Mubea several years ago. Mine was on an angle iron frame and my backhoe struggled to pick it off the trailer. It looks like yours is mounted on a significant piece of concrete. That forklift looks like the right machine to move it around. Mubea will sell you a manual, however Peddinghaus made similar machines and might email you a pdf copy of their manual. I do have a copy of theirs, but wouldn't call it a bible.
I hope you got some punches with it. I was lucky and got a good selection of round, oval, and square punches with mine. Like moonlight said, once you start it in motion something is going to happen. They require a lot of respect and are much faster than the hydraulic machines. I had a Peddinghaus mechanical, now sold. It inspired fear and awe. You pull the lever, and whatever is in the way, in the blink of an eye, isn't there any more.
And the machine doesn't even slow down. Steel bars that would take minutes to saw thru, poof, are cut. Especially when punching, you.must. have tight control on hand placement as you don't want to get crushed between the work and whatever could be under it. I didn't have the space for it, but its quite handy when you have a lot of shearing and punching to take place. It will beat any drill press or bandsaw ever made for those tasks.
I also promised myself the next ironworker to enter this shop would be hydraulic.so be careful. This is one of the most dangerous tools, imo, that you can have in the shop.sort of analogous to a tablesaw in woodworking.
